Rahvas on juba pikalt kirunud, et Eesti peavoolumeedia pole adekvaatne ning levitab üsna palju propagandistlikku infot. Olen ise mõelnud, et näiteks drooniintsidentidest ning Venemaa ohust räägitakse üsna neutraalselt. Parteid hoiavad sõjahirmu üleval, kuna see on neile kasulik, kuid uudised ei kajasta tegelikult reaalset julgeolekuolukorda, vaid rahvani tuuakse stratcom’i poolt läbi seeditud info.
Põhjus, miks Eestimaa inimesi hoitakse infosulus kuni viimase hetkeni, on väga lihtne: rahva koostöövõime on suhteliselt nullilähedane ning väga paljud ei ole nõus selle valitsuse ja riigi eest sõdima. Et inimesed riigist minema ei jookseks, ei räägita ka uudistes kogu tõde.

People have long been complaining that Estonia’s mainstream media is not adequate and spreads quite a lot of propagandistic information. I have also thought that, for example, drone incidents and the threat from Russia are discussed in a rather neutral tone. Political parties keep the fear of war alive because it benefits them, but the news does not actually reflect the real security situation—instead, the public is fed pre-processed information shaped by strategic communications.
The reason why the people of Estonia are kept in an information blackout until the last moment is very simple: the population’s ability to cooperate is relatively close to zero, and many are not willing to fight for this government and state. To prevent people from leaving the country, the full truth is not told in the news.
